Stories of Belief

900 years of Edinburgh as a city have been enriched by the diversity of faith traditions and communities. They are also a very important part of the University of Edinburgh and the work of the UoE Chaplaincy.

We are delighted to host the Stories of Belief exhibition in our building at Bristo Square 1 from the 4th of September until the 3rd of October 2025. The exhibition features several of our honorary chaplains and tells the enriching and moving stories of their communities. It takes the viewer on an audio-visual journey that changes perspectives and inspires to add their own stories to the colourful and diverse tapestry of this city and university.

Join us for a guided tour during the Welcome Week on the 9th of September at 2:30pm in the Auditorium of the Chaplaincy at Bristo Square 1, EH8 9AL

A photo of a picnic with the text "for jean, the most important milestone in terms of acceptance came in 2018 when she was appointed as Honorary Pagen Chaplain in 2018: "that was a completely different ball game, really. The media were very welcoming. There was a photographer who came along and interviewed me, and everything was very, very much accepted instead of having to be guarded or watch what we were saying or be hidden. It was wonderful really, a breath of fresh air". ""
